National Customer Service Awards - 2010 Results

Those of you already working in customer service jobs may already know that it was the National Customer Service Awards last week. This year it not only celebrated excellence in the industry, but also its 10th birthday.

Over the years this event has grown in prestige to become an important date in the diary of anyone serious about pursuing a customer service career. The glittering ceremony took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel London and was attended by over 1200 business leaders and guests.

A vast array of organisations had entered for awards this year from across the spectrum of British industry. Household names such as American Express and British Gas carried off awards as lesser-known companies.

Over 20 awards were presented, celebrating the success of those in customer service jobs, from front line staff to top management level. Those excelling in customer service management jobs were recognised with a variety of awards. Among them, the Customer Service Manager of the Year was carried off by Ms Pauline Wilson at Virgin Holidays.

It’s all happening in Liverpool
Customer Service Contact Centre of the Year for up to 100 seats was accepted by Ms Diane Evans, at Liverpool Housing Trust. The award for the larger 100+ seat Customer Service Contact Centre of the Year was picked up by LV – (Liverpool and Victoria) which makes you wonder if customer service jobs in Liverpool might be a cut above the rest of the country.

Best Employer?
If you are looking for customer service jobs and you want to work for the very best employer, it might be time to dust off that red jacket before you attend an interview: Customer Service Employer of the Year was Butlins.

If you’re just starting out in your customer service career you might be interested to know there’s also an award for Customer Service Newcomer of the Year. This year it went to Ms Jade Lowther at Aviva, but next year, who knows, it could be you.
