In this role as Customer Quality Engineer for Cummins Daventry, you will provide a contact point for OEM customers for technical/quality related issues found on Daventry supply engines and parts. You will report directly into the Lead Customer Quality Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate with OEM's and Distributors regarding information supporting failures
Support BIS database to monitor and archive all reported issues
Make initial failure investigations on reported issues
Facilitate and monitor internal corrective action analysis by other departments
Initiate corrective action meetings and issue supported documentation
Make visits to customers to discuss plant quality performance
Communicate and monitor plant measures monthly to senior management
Facilitate component replacement for claims
Communicate import BIS issues to respective engine build plants
Maintains BIS monitoring statistics for analysis and reporting purposes to internal departments, senior management, PQC meetings and customer feedback and presentations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
HNC with Engineering bias apprenticeship or broad engine test experience
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Understanding of the Cummins Quality systems would be desired (TQS/ISO)
Must have good literacy skills and be able to communicate with people
Engine troubleshooting experience is an advantage
Extensive product knowledge is an advantage
PC literacy, especially in the use of IMS and Microsoft Office
Experience in Diesel and Gas engine fundamentals would be advantageous.
