Inbound Call Centre Jobs
The role of an inbound call centre is to deal with inbound customer service enquiries and complaints and to respond to customers calling in with orders for the goods and service of the business, ensuring that these orders are properly processed. Where appropriate, the inbound call centre will be expected to identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
Unlike an outbound call centre, all inbound call centres established to deal with service and sales will rarely, if ever, be required to undertake outbound calling to generate sales leads or to make sales through unsolicited outbound telephone calling.
All those working in an inbound call centre will at all times be required to demonstrate a pleasant telephone manner and be able to project a professional company image through their phone dealings. In addition, staff will be required to demonstrate a strong interest in helping customers with a polite and tactful helpful telephone manner and the ability to understand the company's products and services.
Specific responsibilities of inbound call centres for service and sales will include:
- Answering phones professionally, competently and promptly
- Provision of accurate product and service information
- Processing orders and applications
- Identification and escalation of priority issues
- Handling and resolving customer complaints
- Completing call logs and reports accurately and to required standards
- Following up customer calls
