Customer Service Representative Jobs
Customer service representatives are usually the first point of contact with customers looking for help and information. Daily contact with customers face to face or over the phone will be the main part of your working day and you will be expected to build sufficient knowledge to cover a variety of questions and complaints or to know where to refer the customer. You may also be expected to up-sell other services and products. This is a role available in a wide a variety of industries so you should be able to find an area which interests you. Customer service representatives are often expected to work weekends and shifts and in a busy and demanding environment.
Good qualities for a customer service representative include excellent communication skills, patience, teamwork, an interest in helping and communication with customers, IT skills and of course the ability to deal with complaints and potentially difficult situations. Experience and a good general education including GCSE's and / or NVQ / SVQ qualifications are required for this type of role. You will also undergo a training programme specific to the organisation.
